About Me

Hi! Welcome to my blog. I am in the midst of teaching English in Colombia through the organization WorldTeach which serves under-resourced communities around the world. I am in Colombia's capital city Bogota and I teach 9th and 10th grade students at El Colegio Minuto de Dios

I hail from New England- My family is in and around the Boston area and I attended Saint Michael's College in Burlington, Vermont. There I studied a combo of Political Science and American Studies officially, and International Development, human rights advocacy and activism, and "how to make the world a better place by being a Vermonter"- unofficially.

I chose to move to Colombia and teach for a year for a variety of reasons. I am learning Spanish, learning the everyday challenges of teaching, (working a 40 hour job for the first time,) and figuring out what it means to be "grown up" I guess. Every day is filled with surprises. I have tried to apply a "yes!" policy to all challenges and opportunities that present themselves here. And then I write about them. This blog is that result! Enjoy.
